Clearly There Is Only One Person That Can Save US Women's Soccer

Disclaimer: I got cut from my third grade travel soccer team so that is the extent of my soccer knowledge

Right now the USWNT team is in a bad way. As we know, they got tragically bounced from the World Cup in completely disappointing fashion. They barely got out of the group stage, were allergic to scoring goals the whole tourney, and garnered attention for all the wrong reasons. It was painful to watch them and most of us had no idea they were even playing against Sweden.

The talk of the last game was Rapinoe just airmailing her PK and rightfully so because she broke the cardinal rule of being a world famous athlete - if you want to have multi-colored hair you have to come home with the trophy. Her teammate's dad coulda told her that. (Sidenote: I had no clue Dennis Rodman's daughter was on the team).

She won't be around for the next World Cup and I think that's for the best. Sure I've never been a world class athlete but I know a thing or two about wearing the red, white, and blue on foreign soil so maybe pipe down. It's time to look forward and there is clearly only one man who can bring this program out of the ashes...

Suck it, Big Cat.

That's right, my fellow alum, friend, and ZBT guest, Coach Mike Krzyzewski. Don't believe me? Go watch The Redeem Team documentary for me one time. He will whip these women into shape so fast before you can even finish the National Anthem. He will teach them what it means to care about representing your country.

Does it matter that he coaches a different sport? It sure as heck does not. Uh, you ever heard of a guy called Ted Lasso? Exactly.

Do the right thing, America. Bring Coach K in and get our women back to their winning ways. I'm sure he wouldn't mind a World Cup trophy on his mantle next to his gold medals and national championships.
